Nightclub in Athens damaged by a bomb – Police suspect gangs which offer protection

Police were investigating the origins of an explosion at the Embati nightclub in northern Attica in the early hours of Wednesday. While the venue suffered extensive damage no injuries were reported. Embati is situated at the Varibobi junction in Nea Kifissia, northern Athens. The explosion is believed to have been caused by a bomb which is a very usual incidence when the owner of a nightclub refuses to pay gangs who offer protection. The Hellenic Security Advisors strongly suggest that foreigners always consult with our offices so that they only visit safe and well guarded nightclubs in Greece
