It came out of the blue and it was a flash flood that left behind hundreds of houses flooded and one dead. Lots of people were trapped, while the roads turned into rivers. Bad maintenance, lack of funds and sheer indifference resulted in a situation where Greek State emergency forces were unable to cope.
