The recent test launch of a “super-large multiple rocket launcher,” was supervised by leader Kim Jong-un but the state media did not call it a success this time raising suspicion that perhaps the projectiles failed to strike their targets.
It was confirmed by a S.Korean military source that one of those projectiles hit an uninhabited island in the East Sea however the other one struck not far away on the North Korean mainland. A source said that it is premature to call them a complete failure because both of the projectiles flew more than 200 km right over North Korea’s own territory. Leader Kim Jong-un stated that these launches were helpful for the verification of the technical parameters of their new launch system and all that is left is to test its multiple-launch capability signaling that they may fire more projectiles in the future.
