The US military described the recent missile test-firing as evidence of its ability to “deter twenty-first century threats”. The test-firing of its intercontinental ballistic missile was a success. An LGM-30G Minuteman III missile was fired from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and successfully hit its target 6,760km (4,200 miles) away on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands in the Pacific Ocean, as stated by the US Air Force.
