South Korea’s ‘de-regulation’ for the drone industry
Posted by Arms Control Center in CONVENTIONAL WEAPONS, tags: drone industry, drones, Korea, South Korea‘De-regulation’ of the drone industry is in the plans of the South Korea government. They will be working on quite a few regulations in order to support the development of technology and the actual drones so they can commercialize drone deliveries by 2025. The government also said that they will work to create spaces for the drones to fly freely without the fear of congestion with airplanes. Certain regulations will also be improved in order to prevent acts of terrorism. The appropriate equipment and radar will be developed by related government ministries. The drones can be used for services such as drone taxi or deliveries and perhaps later on they can be used in public services like like rescue operations, forest surveys, artificial rain and communication. Seoul expects to create an economic ripple effect worth 17 billion U.S. with this venture and also create jobs for 170-thousand people by 2028.
