Another aged couple suffered in the hands of armed criminals who have multiplied in Greece as the financial plight goes on. “They wanted to cut my finger off to remove my ring”, complains the unfortunate old lady. Her husband was forced to hand over to the armed robbers valuable jewels and money to save the life of his wife and his own. She was lucky enough not to lose her finger as they robbers finally used soap and water to slide it off her finger. The criminals are still at large despite the efforts of the police who cannot cope with the rising tide of criminality in Greece. HACC constantly monitors the level of criminality in Greece and advises old people who live in isolated areas to take all necessary measures against possible attacks by armed criminals.
