Inauguration of the first Soryu-class diesel-electric attack submarine

The first Soryu-class diesel-electric (SSK) attack submarine was inaugurated by the armed forces of Japan. This particular submarine was made by the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and its extension reaches 84M. What is very notable about it is the fact that it is equipped with lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries. According to reports, the total costs of the submarine was around JPY66 billion (USD615 million).
