A mission was conducted over the East Sea by 2 U.S. B-52 strategic bombers which was likely meant to send a message to N. Korea, China and Russia. Three aerial tankers were also added to the mission. The planes have not been spotted near the Korean Peninsula lately as the North has been engaging in denuclearization talks however the latest flight came as the the regime test-fired a new submarine-launched ballistic missile in early October. Washington was also blamed by N.Korea due to failing to come come up with a renewed proposal after their breakdown of their recent working-level talks in Stockholm. The B-52, the intercontinental ballistic missiles and the ballistic missile submarines are representative strategic assets of the U.S. The B-52 is a long-distance bomber capable of carrying 31-ton bombs on runs of almost six-and-a-half thousand kilometers.
